First thing to do is plan your flight. With this, the earlier you plan and purchase your tickets, the better. During peak flying times flights will book up quickly, as well as accommodations at your vacation site. If possible, look for a flight that leaves midday or in the evening and during the week. Those times of day tend to be less crowded at the airport than weekends, early morning, and afternoons. Next thing to do is to get ready for the airport. When packing your bags, keep in mind that you will be going through airport security. It used to be that security was a minor and routine inconvenience. Now, with the threats of terrorism looming over our heads, the airport security checkpoint has become something of a travel ritual, replacing lost luggage as the traveler’s complaint of choice. Frequent travelers now recount their embattled moments, their funny anecdotes, and their embarrassing tales of passing through airport security checkpoints. But it’s best to avoid having your own story to tell. It’s best to pass through unassumingly, with not much to say afterwards. Here’s how to do it.

There are two general guidelines to follow for passing through the airport security checkpoint with no major delays or problems. These are: 1) dress accordingly and 2) pack accordingly. Simply following these two simple guidelines can help ensure safe and pleasant travels.
